Results:

The sound of the hooters could be heard throughout the village on Sunday evening last as the Kildysart U16 Ladies returned from Meelick after their Shield win.  It was an exciting contest that could have been won by either side but it was captain Ciara Foley who raised the Shield after their 4-4 to 3-3 win over Parteen Meelick.  Tap here for the full match report.

Lissycasey took their revenge on the Kildysart Seniors in the fourth round of the Cusack Cup on Sunday last, winning by 12 points to seven.  The home side took advantage of the breeze and notched up 10 points to Kildysart’s no-score by halftime.  It was a game of two halves with Lissycasey only getting two points against the breeze in the second half but the Blues left themselves too much to do.  Keith O’Connor is the ultimate club man, playing only days after his wedding, and was hugely influential in Kildysart’s second-half performance.  The club wishes Sara Keogh and Keith the very best in their new married life.  Final score: Lissycasey 0-12, Kildysart 0-7.  Referee: Jim Hickey.

Kildysart: Kieran Eyres, Rory McMahon, Kieran Leahy, Stevie Sheehan, Michael Eustace, Conor Moloney, Ryan Casey, Keith O’Connor-captain (0-1), Kieran O’Brien, Oisin Coyle, Seamus Casey (0-1), Mikey Donnellan, Conor Hassett (0-1), Conor Cusack (0-1, 1m), Luke McGrath (0-3, 3f).  Subs: Mark Moloney for R. Casey (23 min), Jack Cotter for McMahon (HT), Colm Finucane for Hassett (60 min).

Kildysart is now in 6th place in the table on 3 points, above Clonegad (2 pts) and Breckans (1 pt).  Ennistymon is still on top with the maximum 8 points.

Kildysart is penciled in to play away to Miltown on Saturday 4th May in the dead rubber of round 3 of the O’Gorman Cup with Kildysart already qualifying for the final and Miltown out of the competition.

Round 5 of the Cusack Cup is on Saturday 11th May v Breckan’s in Lisdoonvarna at 7:30.

The Junior Men received a walkover from Clooney Quin on Friday last and are not out again until Thursday 23rd when they travel to Gurteen.  They currently sit joint third with their next opponent Doora Barefield.
