 Results:

The U18 Boys came away from Cross with a comprehensive win over the Western Gaels on Friday last, Kildysart/Coolmeen 3-12, Western Gaels 0-5 in the Division 2 Shield Semi-final.  They will face Doora Barefield in the final on 17th May in Ballynacally at 7pm.

The U15 Boys lost the final round of the Division 2-3 when an injury-time turnover led to the KIB’s fifth goal to give them a 2-point cushion in the dying seconds.  Kildysart/Coolmeen started strong and had 6 points on the board from 4 shooters before KIB got their opening score in the 13th minute.  KIB followed on quickly with their first of 5 goals, but Kildysart / Coolmeen added 4 more scores to leave it 0-10 to 1-2 at the break.

KIB struck for another goal but Kildysart / Coolmeen kept the scoreboard ticking over with another four points giving them a 5-point advantage heading into the last quarter, Kildysart / Coolmeen 0-14 to KIB 2-3.  However, a two-minute surge by KIB saw them rattle the net twice and go in front for the first time by the 50th minute.  But the on-target Kelan Casey popped over his 7th point of the day to restore parity once again and it was his effort in the 54th minute that put Kildysart / Coolmeen ahead by one point.  Both teams battled it out in the remaining minutes but when KIB won the ball in Kildysart’s half in the 62nd minute, they went upfield and raided for their fifth goal to win by 2 points, Kildysart / Coolmeen 0-16, KIB 5-3.  The team have qualified for division 2 with those round matches starting on the 15th May.
