Fixtures:

The Senior Men host Doora Barefield in the penultimate Cusack Cup match at home on Saturday at 5pm.  As Kildysart and Barefield are joint 5th in the table on 4 points, a win will most likely secure Division 1 status for 2025. The other matches taking place on Saturday are Lissycasey (6 points) at home to Breckans (2 points) at 5pm and KIB (5 points) at home to Clondegad (2 points) at 7pm.  The top two teams go at it on Monday at 8pm when Ennistymon travels to Miltown.  For the final round, Kildysart is at home again on Sunday week (2nd June) when they host table toppers Ennistymon at 6:30pm.

The Junior Men travel to Doora Barefield in Gurteen on Thursday at 8pm for round 6 in the division 6 league.  As we approach the business end of the league, Kildysart are currently in joint fourth place with Parteen-Meelick on 4 points with Barefield and Doonbeg above them in joint second on 6 points.  Kildysart hosts Parteen-Meelick on the June Bank Holiday Monday.

The U15s travel to Ennis on Wednesday (22nd) for round 3 in the Division 2 championship, with throw-in at 7pm.  They play their last round-robin match v Ennistymon on Sunday (26th May) at 10am in Kildysart.

2024 Clare Senior Football Championship

The 2024 Senior Football Championship draw occurred this evening (Tuesday 21st).  Similar to last year, the championship consists of 3 groups of four teams with the 2023 semi-finalists (Cratloe, Eire Og, Miltown and St. Breckans) being seeded.  Kildysart was drawn in group 2 with Breckans, Doora Barefield and Corofin.  Our opening match is against Corofin as it's team 1 v team 2 and team 3 v team 4.  See the blog for more details of the groupings and quarter-finals.

Sam Maguire Championship

Clare lost their opening round v Cork in Cusack Park 1-13 to 1-11, however, they can take heart from their second-half performance.  The teams were level at 1-8 apiece heading into the final quarter but Cork had a stronger bench to see out the match.  Emmet McMahon was again a key player contributing five points from placed balls.  The Banner heads to Tyrone on the June bank holiday weekend in search of much-needed points to keep their hopes of reaching the quarter-final alive.

Munster Hurling Championship

There was an exciting end to the hotly contested match between the Banner and the Deise, with Clare coming away with the one-point win, Clare 4-21, Waterford 2-26 as Mark Rodgers’ 65’ flew between the posts with the last puck of the ball.  The win guarantees that Clare advances to the All-Ireland knockout stages and puts them in pole position for a spot in the Munster Final for the third year in a row.  Clare faces last-placed Tipperary in the last round-robin match in Semple Stadium at 4pm on Sunday.  This match will be shown free-to-air on the RTE News channel and the RTE Player.  Tickets for the match are available here.
