The GAA and Amazon have announced the return of Glór na nÓg for 2026, a €100,000 Community Funding Initiative designed to amplify the voices of young people in GAA clubs internationally.
The 2026 Glór na nÓg initiative will run from August 10th until September 21st 2026, asking junior club members (10-18 years old) to share which GAA players inspire them. This GAA initiative opens participation to GAA clubs across countries outside of Ireland, expanding beyond the traditional Irish base to include the global GAA community.
Speaking to our 2025 Grand Winners, Shannon Gaels, they had this to say about winning the overall prize for their club:
“The future of all clubs is based our continuous efforts to engage, encourage, and empower the next generation; therefore, in the spirit of Glòr na nÒg, Shannon Gaels plan to invest the prize money in and for our younger members.”
Participants will access the initiative through QR codes displayed at their local GAA clubs or by visiting https://www.gaa.ie/glornanog on social and digital channels, leading them to a dedicated digital platform where they will answer two questions: “Who is your favourite player from any GAA code - hurling, football, camogie, ladies' football, handball, or rounders - and why?” and "Imagine yourself in the future as a GAA star and you are talking to your favourite player. Think Big! Tell them how they inspired you.”

• Grand prize: 1 club will win €10,000
