Kildysart GAA extends its deepest sympathies to the Meere family on the passing of Thomas Meere.
Thomas was a proud Kildysart GAA man who represented the club with distinction, playing right up until he emigrated to England in the early 80’s . He was a valued member of the Kildysart U21 team that captured county honours in 1983, lining out in goals during that memorable campaign. He was also a member of the Kildysart Junior A panel that won the County Championship in 1984, defeating Naomh Eoin in the final.
Although he made his home across the water, Thomas never lost his connection to Kildysart. He always kept a keen interest in how the club was progressing, especially during championship season, and any visit home would often see him back on the sideline, supporting the teams and catching up with old friends.
Thomas's love for Kildysart GAA and his pride in his club remained strong throughout his life.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, former teammates, and all who knew him at this difficult time.
